Guidance for Intentional Monogamy
How to make monogamy work & avoid the traps of traditional relationship programming.
You’ve already been in a relationship or married for a while, and you’re committed to staying monogamous to each other. Whether something happened and you need to resolve a conflict, or you want to be proactive and lay the foundation for a truly healthy relationship, it’s critical that you take the time to clarify (and re-clarify) what your needs are in the context of your commitment. Monogamy is much more than a promise of sexual purity. To be truly happy and satisfied in your relationship or marriage, both people have to learn how to verbalize what it is they need to feel safe and satisfied. You must challenge each other to next-level, radical authenticity so that everyone’s boundaries can be held with compassion and respect; rather than obligation or resentment.
